Local products; These are the products referred to with the name of a certain region and positioned by consumers of different quality than similar products. Local products are generally sold more expensive than their counterparts because of their superior properties. The added value created by local products is seen as a tool to support rural development in many countries. However, the fact that the local products find buyers for higher prices and are preferred by the consumers causes these products to be subject to unfair competition frequently. Most of the time, the products sold under the name of the region, although not produced in the real region, both harm the reputation of the product and mislead consumers. Local product names have also been taken under protection in order to prevent this unfair competition in the world. Signs protecting local products are called “geographical signs Dok (Dokuzlu, 2018). Geographical Sign; a country, region or boundaries identified with a specific area, the reputation and quality characteristics of the area is defined as the sign indicating products (WTO 2014).
